Review by hotel critic
Storrs Hall was a delightful family getaway, nestled on the stunning shores of Lake Windermere. Our stay began with a spacious room that comfortably suited our needs as a traveling family. Though it didn't have air conditioning, we managed to keep cool with open windows and fresh lake breezes. One of the highlights was the private 4x4 Lake Tours adventure we booked, exploring the Lake District in a Land Rover Discovery. It was a splendid way to soak up breathtaking views while enjoying a guided experience, which my kids loved. At £199 for four hours, it felt like a good value for the excitement it offered. Dining was a mix - we found some meals quite good, particularly the breakfasts, but a lunch out at the bar proved disappointing. The staff were accommodating, ensuring my dietary needs were met without fuss. The hotel's family-friendly atmosphere made it easy to relax, while its lakeside location allowed us to dabble in some wakesurfing, which was a first for all of us! while not perfect, Storrs Hall made for a memorable family vacation filled with cherished experiences.
